Financial Views Newsletter Q1:2026

Welcome to the New Year!

Happy New Year! As we step into 2026, it’s the perfect time to set fresh goals and ensure your financial plan is aligned with your vision for the year ahead. At True Vision Financial Advisors, we’re committed to helping you navigate opportunities and challenges with confidence.

Fun Fact: Did you know the first recorded New Year’s financial resolution dates back to ancient Babylon over 4,000 years ago? People pledged to return borrowed items and settle debts as part of their new year commitments—a tradition that still resonates today as we focus on financial health and planning.

Requesting Money from Your Accounts

Protecting Your Wealth

Your financial security is our top priority. With cyberattacks and fraud attempts becoming more sophisticated, we’ve implemented strict safeguards to keep your accounts safe. One of the most important measures is requiring verbal authorization for all distribution requests. This extra step ensures that your assets remain secure and gives you peace of mind knowing your financial journey is protected.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • If you email us a request, we will follow up with a phone call to confirm.
  • Your request will not be processed until verbal confirmation is received.

Tip: The fastest way to ensure funds are sent is to call us directly at (612) 256-2208.

2025 Tax Forms

Tax season is here, and we want to make sure you know what to expect:

  • Retirement Accounts: Forms for retirement accounts are called 1099-R and are typically sent by the end of January.
  • Non-Retirement Accounts: Forms for non-retirement accounts are called 1099-MISC and are usually sent by the end of February.

While forms are typically available by the end of February, we recommend waiting until mid-March to file your tax return if you have a non-retirement account. Why? Issuers of securities often send updates to Schwab/LPL after February. If this happens, Schwab/LPL will issue a corrected 1099 form.

If you’ve already filed your taxes and receive a corrected form, you will need to amend your tax return. Taking a little extra time can help you avoid the hassle of filing an amendment later.

2025 Retirement Contributions

You still have time to make your 2025 Traditional and Roth IRA contributions, but the deadline is approaching!

  • Deadline: April 15, 2026
  • Making contributions before the deadline can help you maximize tax benefits and stay on track with your retirement goals.

If you’re unsure how much you can contribute or need assistance with the process, contact your Client Services Associate or Advisor. We’re here to guide you every step of the way.
